Paleo OMG Grass Fed Sirloin Steaks

Paleo OMG Grass Fed Sirloin Steaks

When Miranda Jade of GlutenFreeHelp.info shared a recipe she had made using 5280Beef I took one look and was like, “OMG I have to share this with you all.”  That’s exactly why this recipe is titled Paleo OMG Grass Fed Sirloin Steaks! Create a perfect paleo meal by pairing these steaks up with a green salad and my paleo sweet potato fries.

Celiac disease runs in my family genetically and the transition to a more paleo-ish diet helped me far beyond the standard gluten-free diet ever did. The positive effects of paleo over gluten-free also changed my son’s and daughter’s health and well-being dramatically.

Paleo Grass-fed Sirloin Steaks

When one is healing up (usually the gut or digestion), addressing an illness or just working at being or staying healthy and lean, the addition of good clean meat is essential. Gradually adding it in as one’s budget permits is the best approach and advice I can share. Miranda Jade found this to be true and said the cut of meat was, “…so lean, tender and tasted so clean”. Please be sure you do not cook it at too high a temperature or for too long. Remember, a cleaner meat has less fat and has not been pumped up with hormones nor fattened up with grains.

I have some incredibly educational interviews I’ve published which you may enjoy. Part 1 touches on 5280Beef and the ins and outs of running a grass fed ranch. Part 2 goes over what grass fed actually is and now Part 3 is all about grass-finished which is another classification entirely and goes deeper into how to choose the very best meat possible for clean eating.

Description

This simple yet delicious meal features grass-fed and grass-finished beef from 5280beef, contributed by Miranda Jade of www.GlutenFreehelp.info.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 grass-fed sirloin steaks.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons crushed garlic
  • 3 tablespoons gluten-free Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Place your steaks in a large zip lock bag with all ingredients.
  2. Gently move bag around to spread out ingredients.
  3. Place bag in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to marinate (the longer the better, but go for a minimum of 1 hour).
  4. Take steaks out of the fridge.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Once the pan is hot, take steaks out of the bag and place on the pan for 2 minutes.
  7. Turn steaks over and cook for another 2 minutes.
  8. Turn heat down to low to cook throughout.
  9. Enjoy!

Notes

Cooking time will depend on how you like your steak. This is a matter of personal preference. If you like a lot of garlic, add an additional 1/2 tablespoon before cooking.
